Have a customer with a 50 inch tv about a year old. The bracket holes are non vesa and uses small tapered bolts. Is there a plate out there that could be used for an articulating mounting bracket ?

All the Sony models have VESA mounting patterns.

Sony did the same thing Samsung did on a few models, where they had the special studs that screwed into the TV and had M8/M6 screws that went into that. If the customer lost those studs that came in a bag with the TV, then good luck finding some more. They are not commonly available.

Here are 2 links I did find:

Just found these, in-stock and in the US. Better snatch them up quick:

There are a couple of Sony Models that use the 200 (H) x 100 (W) that do not mate well with some mounts (particularly motion mounts). Sadly that are not enough sold to make mounts specifically for them.

Every TV mount comes with too many screws. I've managed to collect* a few hundred miscellaneous such hardware, and if you can figure out the thread size I probably have some I could send you.

Then again, I know of two hardware stores in the Los Angeles area that have great collections of metric hardware. Your choice.

*When we did a large system in Saudi Arabia a few years ago, I shipped about forty pounds of various metric screws over there just to be sure we had 'em. All those screws were extras from a few years of mounting normal TVs.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
