Currently, I have an X10 System, with IR to X10 (controller Model IR543) and X10 Decora switches. Recently, I have been having issues with X10. I would like to switch to something else. All I need is to control two decora switching with IR. I guess one way would be to go for z wave but does Zwave has IR to Zwave? Are there any devices which convert IR to Smart life switch like this? Good Idea! How ever, the decora switch is in an adjacent area, outside the line of sight for the IR remote. I dont have access to that area to wire in a IR emitter. I guess I can look at a wireless IR repeater.. It might work.. but more hassle.. I would rather see if I can find an IR to Z wave or IR to google home converter. I want to avoid z wave if possible, because that is one more hub in the house!

Why not update your remote to something that does zwave like a pro control. Or get a Logitech with the hub then you could have IP control of Lutron.

I would like to keep this discussion related only to IR control please. I have a URC MX 780 and have spent a lot of time programming on CCP. I don't want to deviate from the original question please. I am not seeing any options for IR to z wave or IR to IP control devices.

I am not seeing any options for IR to z wave or IR to IP control devices. That's because there is none. There is no device on the market like what you are wanting. And with the industry moving away from IR control, you likely never will. There is an option. Many people like you have built there own device to do what you are wanting. You'll need a Raspberry PI, FLIRC, plugin 'triggerhappy', and a few other things. But... if you are complaining about programming in CCP (which is child's play), you are probably going to be lost trying to build this and get it to work. You also will probably have to look to other forums, as not to many people here dig deep into the DIY stuff - save JP1 stuff for OneForAll remotes.

If the X10 is becoming flaky there a tons for sale. They are old, you may need to purchase a couple extra to make sure that you get one that works. Also, X10 is sensitive to house wiring and surge protectors. You may need to shuffle things in order to keep the signal level high enough. For DIY: IR to ZigbeeIR to ZWave

Not that I’m aware of. As others have mentioned, this would be a small very specialized market. I doubt that it would be worth pursuing on a commercial scale. Here’s an old web page that might stimulate some thinking. Another ancient product that turned up in a search. Yet another DIY approach.

You could use the Lutron IR switches and put a MRF-260 base station in the other room and set the remote to send the command for the switches to the IR blaster. I’ve done it that way before and the base station was across the room hidden above a cabinet and it worked like that for years. You can find used 260s on eBay for $20.

You can get those old URC RF dimmers on the cheap on eBay too. Not sure what remotes it works with though.

I still have some! Use them for seasonal lighting stuff...easy to plug in, easy to configure. There is still something to be said for simple.
Now, also have Ra2/3, Insteon, Z-Wave, Zigbee, UPB, Litetouch and DMX too. Test lab :)
