Hello,
We are having an HDCP issues. When these occur, the message takes over the screen. The only way out that we have found is a hard power recycle.
We noticed that this happens every time Spectrum(Cable provider) sends a system wide notification, ex; recent weather notifications resulted in this “screen freeze” with an HDCP error message visible resulting in inability to return to regular cable service. This same event happened several times last weekend. We needed to reboot all 3 cable boxes after each occurrence.
When the cable company DOES NOT send these notifications our cable boxes and TV's work fine without error messages.
Appletv's and spectrum cable boxes going through an Atlona AT-OPUS-810M(8x10)matrix to the OPUS-RX receivers. Appletv's have zero HDCP issues and again, the cable boxes only have this issue after they send their emergency messages.
First, Can anyone explain why this is happening?
Second, how do we avoid or resolve this issue?
Thank you all for any help you can provide!

A question: Have you tried unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable coming out of the cable box?

Brent may have a fix that can be more automated.

Brent may have a fix that can be more automated. Jack is correct. If the uplug/plug works then you install one of our HDM-AIO2 on the output of the CATV STB, the AIO2 has a relay triggered (you need to provide a controlled relay for this*) Hot Plug interrupt function. When ever you are not watching the CATV STB you open your controlled Relay and for all practicable purposes the HDMI cable is disconnected. Check the cable box for its output resolution- set it to Auto or the highest that's allowed. That may help.
