I'm looking for an in-wall BT receiver. This will be a community room/grill/bar and I know that at some point someone will want to Bluetooth something. I'd rather not bury the BT receiver in a backroom closet because this will result in coverage issues in an 80' x 22' space. We'll be using a dBx 1260m. I wish that they had a BT receiver.

Here you go buzz.

I've used these before the company was purchased by QSC. Solid, simple integration.

Symetrix has Dante version, but only works with their DSP's or Biamp.

If you can find a way to attach it so people can't steal it, the Miccus is the best I have used- it has great range, the sound is good (I haven't compared it to a better file format, but I haven't found anything objectionable in the sound), it has analog 3.5mm and optical in/out, detachable antennae, the company was very responsive when I called and best- it's not expensive. I paid $50 for the first one and a bit less for the second, both from Amazon. Easy to pair, uses Bt 5.0 and if needed, it can announce that it has successfully paired to a device- that announcement can be turned off. In addition, it can send or receive, which increases the range which, as I found, is excellent. Before I needed one of these, I 'knew' BT sucked, as most of us did. Less than half hour before bought the first one, I looked into the options after seeing BT work over a much greater distance, so I decided to give this a shot. It was here in less than 8 hours and when I set it up, I walked away and counted my steps- it never stopped streaming by the time I gave up and when I walked back to my garage, I counted 60 steps at just over 3'/step. The one I installed has three concrete block walls between it and the gym where the streaming devices are used.

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

lippavisual: I think that his unit is replaced by unBT2A. I did a quick scan for suppliers and it seems that this could be about a $1000 proposition. Is this your experience?

highfigh: I wish that it was in-wall, but it might work. We will need the extended range for this project.

We are considering walking away from this project. The architect is thinking warmed over home audio for a golf course club room. It would be a disaster, of course. His idea of control system is a drawer full of cable box remotes or a "pocket" near each TV. We will pitch a dBX 1260m based system and see how it goes. We can get him to install enough wiring to transition to a proper control system in the future if he goes with the kid next door type of system. It's a shame because they have completely gutted the place and I'm sure that the finish will be first class.

List is $550 so no idea why/where you’re seeing $1k.

Is the AXP20 included with the unBT2A? I assumed that it was not and that this would add another $500 or so.

The unBT2A is great. I have used them in businesses and they love them. Simple to use and it just works.

I have used the 1Mii Bluetooth many times before in restaurants, bars and private rooms and it works great at a cheap price. I run signal cable from the dbx to somewhere in a cabinet behind the bar or where the vol/selectors are in a good spot and convert it to RCA with RDL converters on one or both ends depending on what connection it is using to the dbx. I then wall mount the 1Mii in the cabinet and have the electricians run me an outlet somewhere there.

Another option I have used where it is actually in-wall is Monoprice's in-wall bluetooth over Cat5
