We are looking at the Pioneer Elite so we can tie a Sonos Port with the Sonos app. We've been using Sony ES for this in the past but right now it's hard to find Sony ES units right now. I hate to change when we have something that works but don't want to wait for Sony ES to start shipping.
So, those that have used this option with the Elite. Can you tell me how your experience was with it.

About a month ago I was finding that Pioneer Elite was much harder to obtain than Sony ES. But maybe things are different now. Regardless, I have tried both and they work essentially the same.

Certain Elite models won't show the "Works with Sonos" feature until you do a firmware update.

Doesn't matter if it's a Port or Connect. Works as expected. I actually think the Pioneers might be a little quicker to output audio than the Sonys.
The less I say, the smarter I will appear

You may be right, after my post I looked at one disty for Elite and "no stock".
Nice to know about using Sonos with Pioneer. I do find a bit of a delay for Sony ES to turn on though.

Since Onkyo, Integra, and Pioneer all are designated as “Works with Sonos” manufacturers, I feel like that is an important distinction. Sony has worked for many, but it is a slightly different configuration, as I have had it explained to me.

I have not use the Pioneers, but plenty of Integra, and assuming that they may use the same chipset, being affiliated brands, I would trust Pioneer as much as Integra to work well.

Jack Rainey likely will concur; Pioneer Elite will be as tough to get as Onkyo, or Integra these days.

Fred...Absolutely and yes the integration has moved beyond what Sony has had with true volume pass through and Multi Port/Multi Zone capability.

Now we just need some stock to sell. I don't think you will find much out in the wild right now....it will be next month.

We are waiting to see what intentions Klipsch has for the brands.
Jack Rainey - Full disclosure...reformed integrator, now mid-Atlantic manufacturers rep for: Integra, Paradigm, Anthem, Parasound, Atlona, LG TV's and Metra Home Theater...among others

So what is the deal with Klipsch looking after Pioneer / Onkyo etc?
Simply distribution, or do we expect Klipsch to buy them and take advantage of their manufacturing plant?
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

This is simply a distribution deal at this point. Onkyo USA had been a independent company from Onkyo Japan for several years. Klipsch set up a distinct company for this (11 Trading Company). We do not know what the future holds.
