So you guys were really helpful at [Link: remotecentral.com] in helping me to get an LG TV worked out.

Now I've got a new one: Are there really TVs where you cannot adjust contrast, brightness, color, etc? The TV I was working with in the previous post was the 65UN7300PUF. I've spent more than an hour going through the commands, and while this TV has maybe a dozen video presets, I can't find any place where you can adjust the picture itself.

Is this a new way that TVs are going?

Edit:
Now we're adjusting the set and a whole new set of possibilities comes up -- the regular ones. Fighting with The Pointer (this feature is a dog) just makes it harder to see what's working and what's not with this set. Finally got video okay to the eye, but it looks like there's a thin film over everything.

Wish I didn't have the "features" I've been talking about here.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I haven't needed to call LG in a long time- do they have a hidden service menu? Seura has one for their outdoor TVs- might be something to check into.

I really hope for your sake, that was an exaggeration.
LG has been using the current menu system on their TVs for several years now. Although it is a pain and 1st time takes a few minutes to figure out; if it really took you over an hour, it might be time to retire buddy.

By the way, on the 'Picture Mode' - use the 'ISF Expert' preset. It is really close to ideal out of the box and shouldn't need but to tweak a few notches to dial it in.

Ernie...to be real..you bought a edge lit, no local dimming entry level TV...its not the worst looking LG you can buy but it is close.

"Nano Cell" is where you get local dimming and full backlit....

The quick ISF modes are the best thing ever
