Just curious. They have big front ported boxes or a tiny sealed 8”. Im curious about the performance of both. If anyone has any time with these guys I’d love to hear your thoughts.

They are fine. Not extraordinary, but not bad either. Like everything Sonance makes- you can find something that outperforms it and plenty that don't. I did a builders own house and used four of the Impact 12's in his media room, and it sounded great. I've used the D8 in a place where it needed to be hidden in a corner behind a chair and it did the job just fine.

Do you do a lot of business with Sonance? If so, then I would use them. If not, I wouldn't seek them out just for freestanding subwoofer product.

We just signed up with them. Doing a little theater upgrade, was going to replace the existing in ceiling surrounds with Sonance surrounds and upgrade the sub, figured might try Sonance for the sub too, just don’t want to be disappointed.

The D8 I’m doing a condo where the sub needs to be small, was going to do a Supercube 6000, but the D8 comes in white which could be a plus on this job. The rest of the speakers in the system will be Triad.

Thanks

Just did a db8 today. Awful. Zero thump, whatsoever. I seriously wouldn’t recommend it. I didn’t expect much because of the size but it is very underwhelming even considering my low expectations.
