I was thinking Crestron decided to say yes this year, banking on it being cancelled. “We tried”...

It’s hard to imagine the pandemic being under control by then. I think you’d have to be nuts to go unless somehow things clear up way more than current indicators suggest is likely.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Bigger picture....

Have CEDIA 2020, no one comes, vendors say enough of waste of money, end of CEDIA expo.

OR skip this year, rebuild and come back strong in 2021.

Vendors don't have the money, most dealers will be pinching pennies, many hotels will be out of business, restaurants who knows, airlines a nightmare, employees furloughed, or green, or rightsized to the point that you can't leave the business, recession, China manufacturing volatility, and then there's the virus.

And for those reasons, I'm out.

Far too many question marks this year. I would bet it gets cancelled anyhow.

Rob pretty much nailed it. All manufacturers need to get all of their booths on the road by the end of August at the latest. That's just a little over 3 months from now.

Lining up venues for parties, getting everything printed / made for the show, etc.

I can't remember if the Colorado Convention Center was being used for homeless people / Corona isolation, but that would be a consideration too.

I think this year is a coin toss at best. I hope everyone is safe, healthy and well.

There ia a lot of if with EXPO.

For me, spending a minimum of $2,000 to $3,000 for three or four days in Denver doesn't make sense.

I had thought I would go this one last time, but I have better things to do with all the if factor.

Personally, I don't think it'll happen anyway.

I wouldn't bet $1.00 on it happening.   Sure, they have to plan for it because that planning takes time, but colleges have already said they won't be having classes in September. (UCLA, etc) I wouldn't buy a plane ticket just yet.

But I've been wrong before. (that one time in 1988).

Doctors are also calling for another spike around September. I wouldn’t be surprised if the city shuts down the convention center.

Considering LA is shut down until august, yeah, Cedia isn’t happening. If it does it’s going to be last minute

I am trying to think of the last time I did go. I know it was in Denver and I shared a condo just off of 16th.

7 years ago my first child was born on 9/18. This has f-ed me every year faithfully thus far. Just grateful not to use the same excuse this year.
