Client has a 4. Does not appear in Channel Store.

Online, some 2’s and 3’s get it but not the 4.

No explanations online. Odd.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I noticed something the other day...I wanted to watch the George Washington documentary on History channel.

On my Apple TV 4th Gen, I cannot watch History channel live.  But on Roku, I can.

Thought that was odd.

I have AppleTV+ on my Roku 3 and Roku Ultra. This site says its not available on the 4 for some reason.

Copy/pasted comment from that link:

Re: Apple TV+ on Roku 4

Thanks for the notes here.

The Apple TV app is not supported on the Roku 4 at this time. The channel doesn't support all models of Roku device.

You can review all of the devices that are currently supported here: [Link: support.roku.com]...

Channel providers may choose to add additional support for more devices, so please feel free to follow up with the channel provider (Apple) directly to share your interest and inquire further.

Thanks,

For clarity...
Hmmm, AppleTV + channel on some Roku but not others

This would be clearer if written

"Hmmm, AppleTV + channel works on some Roku MODELS but not others"

I thought from the title of the thread that he had, say, a dozen mixed models of ROKU and a miscellaneous set of the dozen would not play the Apple TV +. It turns out that the situation is totally model-dependent. That's very different from miscellaneous.

It looks like Roku and Apple are not playing well with one another for some reason.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

You really should pay attention better and read more carefully. The problem isn’t that the app won’t play on some models. It’s that the AppleTV+ app isn’t available at all on some models. Details matter

Guessing Roku4 hardware or HDCP software isn’t up to snuff for Apple. It’s a farce that it’s even available on Roku in the first place but the profitability was too hard to ignore for Apple. They will likely never play well together. Pulling the networks apart as apps has been horrific for end users and large MSO apps are really bad too. Money and/or franchise rights are making the sea change in TV set top boxes quite the sh!t show.
