Only time I don’t worry about it is when they’re aligned perpendicular with the seating and there’s no way to call it incorrect. The big question is what do you do when you encounter the inevitable contractor or electrician who decided It would be wise to place a stereo pair across two separate rooms?

Id say it only matters that left and right are important in a two channel set up if there is video involved. Other than that, I doubt anyone would ever know they might be backwards.

Actually, when you consider the small percentage of rooms with a pair of speakers in the room where anybody AT ALL can be at the sweet spot, at least half of the multiroom systems we've done should have probably been monaural, may I even say 70 volt! Ringo and Paul can't be on the wrong side if they're on both sides.
