Apparently, they were listening.

LOL, I like the “separate left and right power amplifier design”

That looks pretty good! It's a reasonable next step in the evolution of things.

Finally, you don't have to get a surround receiver and install it where you can't run wires to the rear. After going through several years where the entire concept of hi fi took a big punch in the gut from ads showing people sharing earbuds... i.e. not even listening in stereo... it's nice to see a new category of product that can introduce high fidelity sound, and omigosh STEREO! to people who have only heard audio from a single stupidly small speaker.

I hope the two subwoofer outputs are turned on and off along with the A and B main outputs. Used to be with stereo products with Speaker A and B and subs that if you used the line level subwoofer inputs, and Speaker A and B, that when you'd turn off Speaker A, the subwoofer in Room A would stay on. The only way you could use A and B with a subwoofer was to use speaker level subwoofer wiring, which some people objected to.

The online information doesn't properly show the dimensions, but they are 17.3 x 14.9 x 4.1 inches.

This is almost too short (not slim) for you to get your hand in next to it to connect wires, but one should always leave some spare height above a receiver to aid in ventilation anyway... and the result is shorter than a heretofore standard receiver. It's shorter.

Speaking of which, it's a bit odd that they use the word "slim," which universally means having less width, and apply that to an item that's small in height, but such is the carelessness with which words are used these days.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

At that price point you could stack them for zone players.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

BTW Integra already has two such 2-channel receivers, one with HDMI switching, and has Works With Sonos capability.

And has for years. There are very nice units.

I was excited to hear about the NR1200 till I compared it to the price of the NR1510.  They are the same price.  Why wouldn't I just go with the NR1510 and have room to add surround speakers?  What do you gain with the NR1200?

edit:  I guess the answer is power per channel.  looks like the 1200 is 75 watts per channel, while the 1510 is 50.   Not enough of a difference to make me go with the 1200 though.  I'd rather have room to add speakers.

Pioneer Elite makes one. NAD as well I believe. Not a new idea, but nice to see other manufacturers jumping on board.

The main selling point of Denon / Marantz to my mind is their licensing of Audysey room correction... which they have studiously left out of this product.

Kinda like the disaster that is the HEOS AVR... no room correction and 5.1 speaker layouts = a handicap in the marketplace.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

I tried these recently for Zone Audio and they have really good power (Musicast built in) and cheaper than SONOS/HEOS

[Link: usa.yamaha.com]

Denon also makes a sister unit to the Marantz and costs the same as a HEOS amp

I miss the days when the reps would leave a message with new product info and the manufacturers had real product training sessions.

Huge plus 10000
My reps up north were awesome, the reps down south, I’m lucky if they pick up the phone or return phone calls

Ahhhhh....the good old days. We had reps driving around with gear in the trunk, unloading it, setting it up in our showroom, demonstrating it, buying everyone dinner, shooting the breeze, etc. then packing it all up and driving to the next dealer. Most of ours knew the equipment well enough after doing that a few dozen times. lol

I remember the Rotel rep brought the brand new, not yet released, RSP1098 with the touchscreen display on the front. He was showing us the options in the setup menu, and one of them was selecting whether you wanted the on screen display to go to the video display, or the touchscreen. There was a checkbox for each. Of course one of us guys asked what happened if you deselected both. The rep was not sure, but we had an idea. So we went ahead and did that. Boom. No more OSD. No way to see to reset it. HAHAHA! He had to send it back and get a new demo unit. Needless to say, that "feature" was omitted on the release version.
