The EASIEST way to go about it is what others said. Factory default Fios router then put your router in a different subnet and you should be good to go. At my house, I dont have a Fios router at all. I have the ONT going ethernet into a USG then the LAN of the USG to a large switch. In the switch, I have an Actiontec ECB2500V (V for Verizon) plugged in and the coax port going into a splitter with the Fios Boxes. On Demand and Guide Still works perfectly. I can even use the Fios app and get caller ID on screen.

You had to open up a few ports though right?

I was doing this exact thing for a while until it quite working. With the help of springs it turned out to be a port issue. I now just DMZ the fios router

What if you can't run a network cable from the ONT to your router? I only have coax from the ONT to the FIOS router.

You could locate the router at the ONT then use something like Wipnet from the router to the rack. http://www.wi3inc.com/

1 -factory default the FIOS router
2- turn off wifi on Fios router
3 - Make Fios DHCP range 192.168.1.2 through 200
4 Create DMZ host address on fios router outside of the Fios DHCP range ( I always use 192.168.1.234 )
DMZ host setup is under Firewall settings on the fios router.
5 - connect one of the LAN ports on the fios router to the WAN port on the Pakedge router
6- move your PC connection now to a lan port on the Pakedge router
7- log into pakedge router and set the wan address to Static and give it the DMZ address you set on the FIOS router. The gateway address is the Fios routers address ( 192.168.1.1 ) Use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for DNS address
8- Give the pakedge router a LAN address of 192.168.2.99

Yes. We do fios/Pakedge installs this way all the time. Only thing we do differently is create a static reservation for the Pakedge router inside the Fios router. We always make it 192.168.1.2 and then put that address into DMZ. Then setup your dyndns address on the Verizon router, and you will then be able to VPN directly into the Pakedge network (And also get to the VZ router if necessary).

Another thing we do is enable remote admin on both routers- port 443 for the VZ, and 8443 for the Pakedge so you can always get directly to either router with just the dyndns address.

Best way is to buy a motorola or actiontech moca bridge and use it in place of the G1100.

You would get the guide and on demand with the bridge?

Fios One installations now require the Verizon supplied router to be installed. At least when the boxes are setup and/or need updates. Without it you cannot activate the boxes or receive updates to them
