Yea I guess I was forgetting about the USB remote kit you have to buy to make IR control work so it is worth it. I just havent used many 3rd party modules where you pay per install.

God, I wish you were my competition.

Can you send the ir driver for the Amazon Fire to jim.dempsey@hoishik.com. I am trying to integrate a Fire TV into a theater system and cannot find an ir driver for it anywhere. Thanks

Hi John,

Do you still have the IR codes for the Aazon Fire TV? The IR driver is no longer on the C4 Database and i need to program a Crestron system to control the Fire TV. It would be very helpful if you could send me the codes please?
Thanks

Has anyone heard of Flirc? Could be a nice solution here. It's a USB dongle you program to use whatever IR commands you want for the FireTV command. and then plug it into the FireTV. I haven't tried it but it seems like a good solution.[IMG][/IMG]

This is probably/almost definitely not much help for many installs, but I'm actually using my Sony TV IR codes through the TV's IR receiver to control my Fire TV. Not sure how I even noticed this originally, but the Sony TV remote codes that do not have a function on the TV (UP, Down, L, R, Select, as long as the TV menu is not on screen) and the FFW, RW, PLAY, PAUSE that I'm assuming would work for a Sony DVD (or whatever) operate the Fire TV WHEN FIRED AT THE TV, NOT AT THE FIRE TV. (via HMDI-CEC?).

I'm using the Fire TV to run KODI (XBMC) and actually have access to more commands than with the stock remotes or app. I'm just starting to play with it but, for example, the Sony TV Select/OK command pulls up the Subtitles menu while watching a movie that I can't figure out how to get to with the Fire TV's Standard remote, the Game Controller, or the Android app.

I've been out of the programming game since the Pronto and Intellicontrol days, so I'm not familiar at all with what's going on here (and hope I don't sound too foolish), but I'd sure love for someone to straighten me out. (and to try it with whatever TV you connect your next Fire TV too)

thx

Hello all I was having trouble with the IR as well lucky I found the IP control for fireTV and have a module that works like a charm. The credit goes to Ian Duncan so just type his name in google and firetv ip control and download the modules.

Hi John

You have PM - any chance of sending me the codes as well - I'm just integrating into my Pronto using an old MCE IR dongle, but the MCE remote codes from the database don't seem to work and I can't find my old MCE remote.

Thanks

Hi, new to the forum but used RemoteCentral for my IR codes for years.

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread but it is entitled "Amazon's Fire TV IR codes".

I am using a Harmony Touch remote with a Fire TV box connected to an Onkyo amp etc etc..

Ok I know the specs of the Amazon Fire TV suggest it does not have an IR sensor, however, I am either going mad or have drunk too much wine! But I have happend to stumble across an IR code that replicates the "Back" or "Return" button.

My Harmony is setup so when it runs the macro to turn on the TV and Amp, change inputs to Amazon TV etc. The main settings on the remote, apart from volume which controls the Amp, get set to the standard for my Samsung TV.

So at this point I dig out my original Samsung TV remote, put some batteries in and try the "Exit" button.. Lo and behold my Amazon box responds with the "Back" action.

Samsung remote product No "AA59-00581A"

Any thoughts?
