I bought a HDMI switch with IR Remote. Tried to learn each of the buttons on the remote, but although it shows "learned", after downloading to my 9600, they do not work. What is my next steps to figure out why they do not work?

Start by posting one of the codes that works and one that does not work.

And maybe a link to the switch you bought.

Do the codes you learned start with FFFF or do they start with 0000?

Guidance for how to do "clean" learns can be found here.

None of the ones for the HDMI switch work.

My on and off buttons work for my Sony XSBR-65AF8, and I can use buttons on my 9600 to turn on and off my Directv box.

Which working button code do you want me to post?

Starts with FFFF

Then post a code that does not work.

I cannot troubleshoot what I cannot see. :-)

I purchased a Rooful switch and these are the codes I learned.

Let us know if they work for you.

When learning codes on the TSU9600, don't press button on the HDMI switch remote until the screen on the 9600, not the computer screen, says learning. Then press and hold the button until the 9600 beeps.

See link about about how to learn (applies to older platform) and the notes I typed above to get better learns in PEP2.

Some work, others don't.

It's a start. Thanks. I keep re-copy and pasting and more seem to work. I will keep trying.

Some of the ones that don't work are in "Red", the ones that work are in "Black"?

Thanks for a great start! I appreciate you help very much!

If I can't get them all to work, I will buy the one you have and hope it works for all of the codes youj posted!

This is yours?

Not sure what you mean about red and black.

Yes that is mine.

All codes will work. I use that model in my bedroom with no issues. I especially like the discrete codes for power on/off.

Note that just because you replace IR code for a function in my database, you likely also need 'Replace Component' in your configuration with the updated one from MyDatabase.

Gary, if the code shows red in PEP2/3, it means it's not a valid code. There is no use trying a code that shows red in PEP - it will most definitely not work.
This happens for example if you manage to add a line break during copying and pasting.
To verify, maybe paste the code into notepad and make sure it's one long line - then copy it from there to avoid having copied some text formatting attributes (notepad only does plain text, so everything copied from there does not have any format attributes).

Thanks Sabastian. Yea, going to Notepad first does much better.

You are welcome. I suspect using the Notepad way would likely allow you to try these same codes on your old switch. I'm actually quite surprised they did not work as the remote in the link you sent me looks just like mine and the Chinese companies are sometimes less to innovate that to copy something that works.
