I am unable to add any components in My Database in PEP v2.
I am able to add components in PEP v1, but only IR commands.
I want to add a new component in My Database in PEP v2 and configure it for serial control via an RFX9600 extender.
What is the fix for this?

Back in Nov 2021, I switched to PEP2 and experienced a problem with the Database. I couldn't make changes or delete any entries. Turns out the problem was with Pronto Data Service not running consistantly. Lyndel gave me a clue, and I fixed the problem by running the Pronto Data Service executable in a "compatibility" mode. You could try that.

I run PEP2 in Administrator mode.
The Extender discovery tool can find the extender.
The PC is Windows 8.2.
I'm not clear about the ProntoDataService compatibility mode suggestion?

You indicated Win8.2 but not 32-bit or 64-bit.

From your main screen.

Start -> Run -> services.msc

May need run this in Administrator Mode.

Find the Pronto Data Server service from the list of services.

Right-click on it and select Properties.

On the Properties - General Tab, you can find the location of the ProntoDataService.exe executable

On my Windows 7 box, it is here:
C:\ProgramData\Philips\Common Database\ProntoDataService.exe

Find that file in Windows Explorer, right click on it for Properties and then on the Compatibility tab, specify the compatibility mode of Windows XP if it is not there already.

As you run PEP2 as an Administrator, you might also ensure that that program runs as an Administrator which is configurable on the Compatibility tab .

There could also be other causes so a forum search on Pronto Data Service or Pronto Data Server might also be of assistance.

Hope this helps.
