I am trying to connect it through RS232. I have used a 3pin phoinix connector and included the commands like the below

RS232 Commands
The SY-MUHD-44 and SY-MUHD-88 can also be controlled using RS232 commands, and some configuration settings can only be performed using RS232 commands. The same commands can sent to the matrix via the Ethernet, as IP commands.

The serial port settings should be set to: 57600,n,8,1 (baud: 57600, no parity, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit) with no handshaking.

In each of the following RS232 command the  symbol represents the carriage-return character (0x0d).
Where shown for a particular command, the square brackets [] are required for that command.
The commands normally reply with the same command that was sent, but with the fist character pointing
left: e.g. the command: >@WVSO[1]I[2] gives the command response: <@WVSO[1]I[2]
Video Selection Commands
Change the input and output signal routing:
Where x is the input number and y is the output number.
>@WVSO[y]I[x]
Set input x to all outputs >@WVSOA[x]
Turn output y off >@WVSO[y]OFF
Turn output y on >@WVSO[y]ON

Do i need to add something more on this code? Because still is not responding. Added it as ASCII

>@WVSO[1]I[2]

1. Have you used Telnet or Windows Hyperterminal to test this?
2. Where is the prontoscript that you are attempting to use to do this?

You did not paste the link to the protocol spec so everything here you state is hypothetical.

How are your sending the 0x0d? Are you escaping this within your string using '\r'? I would love to help but you have given me nothing other than asking how to build a command for your equipment.

Hi Lyndel

okay i thought this was simpler to be honest. Maybe it's above my knowledge and need to read more. I just created the component and added the commands based on what i understood. Here are a couple of pictures on how i have set it up

The Building Blocks view in the 2nd pic does not show the Matrix Switcher component to verify that you have configured it to use a Serial Port on your RFX9600.

That being said, the problem is most likely in the command you are sending. All your functions end with '?'. Why is that? Because you copy/pasted?
You need to replace the '?' at the end of each function with \r which is the escaped ASCII character for Carriage Return (Hexadecimal 0x0d).

Hi Lyndel

I had the selection on the MC12 when i took the screenshot. Here is how it's configured. I have updated the commands as well but they are not working

Why is there a yellow 'Yield sign' icon on the activity in question? Could it be that you have not replaced the component from MyDatabase after editing the commands in the database?

If this is indeed the case, replace the component with updated one from MyDatabase or try exporting as a PackAndGo exe file to find out why the warning is there.

If you've done all this, then consider swapping pins 2 and 3 in one end of your serial cable to check whether you need a straight cable or a crossover cable.

Try to get it working with same cable using a PC with an RS232 port and hyperterminal.
