Hi Guys

I am facing more and more command failures. Not sure what is driving the problem but remote almost not working at all. Getting a command pass through every 30-40 times. I cannot find a specific pattern

I can access the RFX when it's connected directly on the pc. But When is set in position 3 i cannot find it using the pronto pro extender finder option

Any ideas on what could be the problem and what i should change?

thank you
Hari

I too have have additional Command Failed messages of late and have added additional things to my network. However, I periodically reboot all my prontos as well as my extenders.

To reboot the Pronto, hold simultaneously Home + Menu + Page Plus.

Find out what got added to your network recently that could be causing more UDP traffic.

Also, you did not tell us type of RFX , RFX and Pronto firmware revisions, and your usage mode. For example, RFX9400 can be used in standalone or network mode. If this is an RFX9400 in standalone mode, when was the last time it was rebooted? The RFX9400 in standalone I've seen performs better with a reboot every now and then.

Hi Lyndel

Yes i should have. I am using an rfx9600 running the latest firmware 1.4.7

The RFX is connected on an old Linksys router. It's the only thing plugged in. Everything else is connected on the internet router which is completely seperate

How can i check the remote's firmware?

thanks
Hari

I think so. The firmware for RFX and TSU are available in the files section.

Just because RFX is connected to a router and nothing else is connected, I have to ask where do your TSU units connect? Wireless to the same router?

Are you using WPA2 or WEP?

I use WEP128 and not WEP64 and used to use Linksys but now am using PacEdge access point. Have you updated firmware on your router or access point recently?

I've only ever used WEP128. Had a Linksys router for many years, then switched over to Netgear. Has been just as many years, since changing to the Netgear. Don't ever remember receiving a "Command Failed" message. Have you tried WEP128 perhaps?

Not for the TSU but I do for RFX9600's. However, the RFX is not specified as a fixed IP in PEP.

This looks like one of the older Linksys units. You can save a lot of diagnostic time if you check the power supply voltage first.
