I am getting an error code of Pronto Edit Professional internal hid not accessible error c14. This is on a 2020 MacBook Pro 13" running windows Bootcamp. I know that there are similar errors but this is really driving me crazy.

I only run Windows for one program, yes Pronto Edit Professional. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I usually see that if the Pronto is not connected, it was some HID error. One time I had to close PEP3 and restart my PC. I have it on my MacBook air running on Bootcamp as well.

Every other time I just unplugged and plugged my pronto back in to resolve, sorry if this does not help
My Pronto Collection:
Pronto TSU-9300 - Current
iPronto TSi-6400 Pronto TSU-7500 Pronto TSU-3000 Pronto TSU-2000 and yes the Original Pronto TSU-1000

Are you using an external mouse and keyboard by chance? If so, try disconnecting them before downloading to the remote. That's what I have to do. Running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I also find once in a great while that my TSU9600 needs to be reset. (Home + Menu + Page Up) When resettting the remote though make sure it's not docked. Once reset dock the remote and see if you're back in business. Good luck.

I did read about the keyboard and mouse issue and I don't have one connected. I tried the reset but without luck. I actually have a couple of prontos and it is the same error for both remotes.

On my MacBook Pro 2016 I had no issues but when initially installing ProntoEdit Professional 3 I did initially get an error message on installation. I really need to sort this out asap.

Are you using the dock or are you plugging in the USB cable directly into the remote?
Maybe try the latter to rule out your dock connector.

Excellent idea. Some years back I ran into this. Had to replace my dock.

Yes I have tried that, I previously had a Prono that would only download that way.The error code is as if the cable is not connected. I have the Pronto Control Panel displayed in Windows 10.

Would a different cable make a difference (I haven't got one on hand)? The cable that I am using worked with my last MacBook. I think that you can run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, I am not sure if that would help.

Barring everything else I am wondering if I should format the SSD and reinstalll windows. I really don't want to resort to that though.

If the cable is not broken, using another cable probably won't help. Can't hurt to try, though.

Before you start reinstalling Windows, have you considered using a virtual machine instead of a Bootcamp installation?
I'm running a Win10 VM in VMware Fusion just for PEP3.
Before applying any Windows updates, I take a snapshot and verify that downloading the config to the remote still works afterwards.
Having the option to "undo" the update step by reverting the snapshot saves a lot of nerves.

Instead of Fusion, you can try VirtualBox (free). I haven't tested that with PEP, but I guess this will work too.

I have previously used parallels and it ran fine. It might be an option to explore.

Well after reinstalling windows on my 2020 MacBook and again on my 2016 model I still had no luck. I tried different cables and quite a few other things without success.

I tried every port without success then as I was about to accept that it would not work I finally tried all of the ports again. Finally, I got it to work, it makes no sense to me but at least it is working now.

After having no issues with this for months the same problem has started happening again. I have tried multiple different cables and even different Pronto remotes with no luck. It really is infuriating. Any suggestions?

I think you confirmed that you are not using wireless keyboard/mouse earlier but if no, get rid of (temporarily disconnect) your Logitech wireless keyboard or mouse and use a wired USB keyboard/mouse.

Yes I am not using a wireless device. I managed to get it working via Parallels but I really don't want to use it that way. I would prefer boot camp.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Had same problem this morning.
My solution was to use a USB Y-Cable - had no problem.

If an external USB Hard Drive or other device requires more power than a single USB port can supply, the Y-Cable allows voltage and current to be drawn concurrently from 2 USB ports which, in combination, can generate enough power to run that device without employing an AC Adapter.
