Hi Guys,
I have four TSU9600s that I have used for many years. I have replaced the batteries over the years and am running into an issue with charging. The remote properly does not give the low battery message until the battery is drained. Once placed on the dock the low battery message will continuously pop up along with the bee-dunk sound and the charging indicator light will go out. I clear the message and the same thing happens repeatedly.
I have been able to help the charge along by holding the remote just above the charge stand and waiting for the screen to go blank and then slowly lower the remote onto the contacts. This works for a while and then the low battery message reappears and the charging stops.
Does anybody know what is happening and if this can be remedied? Is there a way to charge without the dock? Can the low battery message be disabled?

Herb,
Find yourself an engineering mechanical pencil that has a very small eraser and clean the contacts on the remote that come into the contact with the docking station pins. They may be corroded. You can also power off the remote and try using a cotton swab (q-tip) with either 70 or 90% isopropyl alcohol.
From what you describe it is either a corrosion issue on the contact board or a bent/recessed pin in the docking station contacts.
Last thing i would suspect here is the need for a new battery but might not hurt to try another one as the regulator circuitry that is inside the battery plastic wrap might also be going bad.
