I have just updated my firmware on a TSU9300 and RFX9400 and now have the command failed problem. It appears that the signal from the TSU is not received by the RFX as the wifi light does not blink. I have reset both units without any luck. The setup is quite straight forward as it is in stand alone mode... Any ideas or similar experiences with the new firmware?

Regards .... Ronnie

I upgraded 1 TSU9600 and 2 RFX9600s with this firmware and have no issues.

After updating firmware on the RFX9400, did you verify that the network configuration was preserved? Are you operating in Network mode or in Standalone mode? Can you ping the RFX9400?

GoPronto has put up a thread about what to do for network problems. Have you reviewed that thread?

I saw quite a lot of issues with concurrent use of serial ports and IR - the new firmware seems to expect lots of activity on one port or IR channel and have had to rewrite my modules to use a queue shared across all of them which cured the problem. I am discussing this with Belgium

Thank you for the responses. As mentioned I am using stand alone mode and did not investigate network issues. I did firmware updates in December 2009 on this setup with no problems.

My current setup uses the extender for all functions. I have no combinations of RF and IR from the remote. Could I have a bit more information on what is meant by queueing etc.

I am still searching for a solution.

Regards .... Ronnie.

MCFH,

I think this is the answer you are looking for. Sorry it took me so long to get it posted. I've been on vacation. There was a change with 7.2.23 to the serial behavior. IMO, this should have been in the release notes as it does have a rippling effect.

Thank you for the responses. Really appreciate it. I have resolved the problem. No doubt carelessness played a role... This is what I learnt and perhaps this helps other newby's too. This applies to the stand alone mode of update with the extender connected directly to the computer.

I CAREFULLY reinstalled the previous version firmwares to the remote and the extender. It worked. Then I CAREFULLY reinstalled the latest firmware to both items and it worked!

The problem was not following exactly the instructions for the of the extender update. After the firmware is loaded to the extender the instruction is to move the switch from position 2 to 1 which restarts the extender. When I first did the update I skipped that and simply removed the power supply. Follow these steps to ensure the end of the update works:
1. Follow the update instructions exactly!
2. After the update is complete and before disconnecting the extender from the config cable and the power move the switch from position 2 to position 1. Wait for the LEDS to settle down to a steady green.
3. Move the switch from network to stand alone and wait for the LEDS to settle to steady green.
4. Test to ensure the remote connects to the extender.
5. Reinstall the extender and in my case everything was back to normal.

I hope this helps some other careless sucker like me!

Regards .... Ronnie.
