Hi there,

I am no expert with this sort of stuff. I can put together files etc but I messed something up & now all my comands on my remote & file are being sent out as RF commands. How do I get it all back to IR? Sorry for the question I am sure it is very basic to do. Thanks in advance.

Disabling wireless communications via system properties should do the trick. If you need wireless communications enabled still per an activity accessing the Internet simply ensure no extenders are selected. So long as no extenders are selected the communication method used for your IR codes will be direct IR.

I have gone to system properties & then network & then no network & still to no avail.

Sorry about that. Disabling wireless communications is not going to in turn change the communication method you have set per each project component assuming that's what your problem is. As such, make sure no extenders are selected in your project per the "Building Blocks\Project Components" tab, then of course redownload to the remote.

Are you using PEPV1 or PEPV2? The way to do this is different between these editors. If in PEPV2, you uncheck the extender for the component. If in PEPV1, you must uncheck the extender in the Activity Properties of the Activity that contains the IR codes.

Assuming that your using PEP v2 as PEP v1 does not have a "System Properties\Network\No Network" option you'll definately need to check each of your project components found under, "Building Blocks\Equipment & Codes\" to ensure an extender is not selected for each one. You'd think you could just click on that "Add Extenders to Project..." button there and deselect the extenders for the project as a whole, but when you do that the icon next to each of the project components you have an extender selected for turns into this warning triangle. Who knows at that point if any communication method will be used once downloading to the remote, so selecting each project component one at a time and ensuring an extender is not selected appears to be the only way to go. Hopefully this is your issue. If not, you'll need to provide more information.

Thanks for trying to sort this out for me guys. I am using Pronto Edit PEP 2. Now when I open any previous XCF file all of the IR commands are missing??? Not having fun with this today!

Ah, well if there are no IR codes that certainly makes sense. The remote isn't sending anything. You should probably restart your computer, then going back to PEP v2 to see if the issue persists. Short of that I'd imagine you'll have to reinstall the editor. I'm still doing it old school myself. I use PEP v1 as I prefer to have all of my IR codes learned to buttons.

Well I unistalled PEP2, rebooted. Installed the newer version & still have the same problem??? I managed to find an older file from a while back & got things running with PEP1.

I am still confused though. It may be a database issue with PEP2. I guess that I will just have to get someone to sort it out if you guys cant help me any more. Thanks though, I may still get it sorted out, it has to be something simple...

PEP v2 only supports database codes, so you are at the mercy of the editor in this regard unfortunately. If the various IR codesets which make up your configuration file are not showing up under "Project Components" as they should be, then all references throughout your configuration file to those missing IR codes will be gone, hence your issue. That being said, you might want to perform a forum search to see if any other forum members have run into this same issue.

OK I am not an installer but I built my files for my own use as I am reasonably tech savy. PEP 1 was easy to ulitlise & I coped well but PEP2 with the database functions are causing me some grief. Is there an extended manual or guide that I can read up on?

I am struggling to add & learn commands to the required database in PEP2, any help would be appreciated. It was so easy to just learn a command in PEP1 & previous versions of the editor over the previous years... I AM STUCK!
