I have a Denon AVR-4310CI receiver controlled via RS232 by a TSU9600 and an RFX9600. Until this week, everything worked perfectly. A couple of days ago, with no changes that I'm aware of, the volume up and down stopped moving in small steps. Instead, one quick press of the volume up or down changes the volume by a significant amount. When this happens, it moves up or down by the same amount each time.

I checked the RFX9600, and when the volume is pressed the green light only lights up briefly but the receiver continues to ramp the volume for a couple of seconds. There is a firmware update for the receiver available, but I haven't downloaded or installed it. I finally installed it to see if it resolved the problem, but no luck.

I tried searching for an answer but was unable to find one here or elsewhere. Can anyone with knowledge of the Denon receivers offer any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Patrick

Sorry, there is not enough information to provide a solid response.

Are you using the Denon 232 module available from the Philips site or are you using 232 codes from MyDatabase?

What changed in your Pronto configuration/RFX configuration this week? New firmware? What else?

Thanks Lyndel. I'm not using the Denon module, just a 232 code from MyDatabase. And there were no changes to either the programming or firmware of the Pronto or the RFX. It's got me baffled, not sure where to troubleshoot.

Hard boot your Denon. Hit the main power switch and not the standby switch.

I've had this happen with my Denon 3808 and a TSU9800/RFX-9600. I'm also not using a module, just rs232 codes and I've found that if I reboot the remote, the issue resolves itself. I think I've only had this happen three times in the last year, but each time I reboot the remote it stops happening.

To do this, either power off the unit or press 'Home'+'Menu'+'Page+' all together.
