My laptop is a Dell studio 1745,T9600 @ 2.80GHz with 4 GB of ram and only about 4-5 months old and came with windows 7 64 bit.

turned off the wifi and downloaded and didn't get any errors,
so I added a new page to an activity and down loaded and got an error C18 bad response.
removed the new page and down loaded with no error,down loaded again and got C18 bad response???

It is definitely much better. I have seen this happen at least 2 times on my unit. Not sure if it was because I nudged the jog wheel though.

It should be a Zip file that you use to do the update not a .bin Thanks, Firefox downloads the file as a .bin, IE downloads it as a .zip!?!?

Ok, so even the .zip is a no-go on the firmware upgrade. And I noticed something weird. At the top of the RFX9600 configuration screen (right next to the Philips logo) it says TSU9600??? For more background, I moved last year, so I haven't been using it in my new location. A couple of months ago I started to get it setup, and updated the RFX9600 with 1.4.5 (although I swear I updated it with the .bin file and not a .zip and it successfully updated. I didn't get around to programming/installing it until now, and I couldn't get the TSU and RFX to communicate, I saw the new firmware and thought maybe that would help. Now I'm wondering if I "bricked" my RFX9600 with the last update I did with the .bin file. Philips Team, anyway force an upgrade?? I always update with a .bin file, the one I download from the website.
If it says that the file was corrpu it can mean:
1. bad download - redownload from page
2. bad upload to rfx - problem in the internal network, try with another cable/PC
3. something else (maybe bad nv ram of rfx), contact service

Why is that? I've always extracted the zip to a .bin file and uploaded. AFAIK, the .bin is actually a zip/rar with other parts in side.

I always been told by the tech boys at pronto to use the zip version not the Bin..
