I´ve my TSU 9600 for only 5 days and now it´s completely frozen, showing only the initial Philips logo. It all started after starting a download and got a message that battery was too low to perform this action. After fully charging it all I get is this screen. Windows (XP, Vista and 7) do not recognize it at all. I can reset it and enter Full FW mode (Home+Menu+PG UP -> Firm keys 2+3+4). However FW Upgrade utility never enables Repair button. Any tip on how to proceeed before returning it ?

Disable any Logitech wireless keyboard/mice or other HID devices that might be interfering with the software finding the Unit. Search this forum for Logitech as it has been reported that they are problematic with Prontos.

McGee, the PC I´m using (running XP) has only a generic HID device which I disabled and an HP Quick Launch Button which I can not either disable or uninstall (automatically reinstalls afet reboot).
Is it common to have the controller frozen at Philips Logo ?

I prefer Lyndel.
I don't think so. However, that HID device which you have disabled may likely be the device that Philips uses to communicate with the remote.

Just checked and both HID are for HP Quick Launch Buttons. I also tried another two PCs (Vista and 7) and none recognizes the TSU9600 at all. All I get is the Philips Logo and when I try the full FW upgrade, the initial screen that states it´s in upgrade mode and normal operation is not possible. Any hints ?

I'd say swap the unit.

There is one key combination that could be used when a firmware upgrade fails. I have tried it with a dead 9600 once and it worked. Don't remember the keys but the info was on the Philips site.

Harry,
I think that was Firm 2, 3, 4 in unison as mentioned in the first post.
