i just called Pronot support and they "confidently" told me there is no way to pull a file from the TSU9800 or TSU9600. what if a new customer asked me to make changes or additions to an already programmed remote by another vendor? what if i smashed my laptop against a wall and my hard drive went into little pieces and i didnt back up :) ? alot of what if's and i cant believe that they never thought of this. is there any way to get the file off of the remote without having to reprogram the entire remote?

thanks in advance

In replay to your pulling down of programs from pronto, this is somthing that installers ask for. How would you feel if you spent 40 hours doing a file with custom graphics and then, someone else came in to pull your file from a remote and use all there file material for free...

Now , as for the backing up of your own data you should be doing this anyway, and it doesnt cost much to even put a copy on a USB stick while you are working on site just incase you spill liquid on your laptop or dropit. :)
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

My 2p as a Software Engineer/Developer.

Your config file and "My Database" are software assets and should be treated as such meaning backup, multiple copies, etc...

With regard to providing configuration file to a customer... I am of the opinion that once customer pays for configuration, it is within their right to make a request for copy of said file. Until it is paid for, whether or not to deliver is up to the vendor.

This was once a highly debated topic. Execute a search for 'upload' and you can read more about it.
