Hi,

I just bough a used RFX9600 which came without the IR cables.

Where can I buy some?

Or is it possible to build them? Are the schematics available somewhere? I guess it just needs IR leds, and maybe a couple of resistors...

Thanks for your help,
Frédéric

You can use single or double emitters (wired in series) with mono plug where sleeve is ground and tip is positive voltage.

You can get these off Ebay or other sites or you can order philips replacements from http://www.servicewidetech.com (in the states) or from your distributor.

Basically the IR emitter is just one IR LED wired from tip to sleeve. Mind that I don't know it the IR outputs are current-regulated so the dides don't get butned or if you have to add a current limiter resistor in series with the IR LED. Can check it, but not sooner than monday.

If you bought a new RFX9600 it the cables (2 double IR cables) should be in the box.

Should be but they are "Blick" emitters. I think that means that they flash a bit of visible LED light when a signal is sent.

I've not tried the triple emitters but if they are wired in series, they should be OK.

I also found a cable to connect a pronto to a AV device. It is explained that the Pronto outpus 2.5V, and the AV-receiver inputs 5V (the cable make the conversion):

[Link: cgi.ebay.com]

Does it mean that the above cables are used on 5V systems? So, the Pronto won't be able to drive 2 serial leds; they have to be connected //...

And what about the wave length? Are all these cables really universal regarding this point?

If you have the Oppo, buy the cable.

If not, buy the single or dual emitters.

I don't have the OPPO, but if the standard is 5V, the 2.5V of the Pronto may not be enough to drive 2 leds in serial...

fma,

Dual emitters are packed in the box with RFX9600's and RFX9400's.

Ok. But the receivers will be very close, and I plan to cut the wires to make them shorter...
