Hi,

My RFX9600 has been randomly turning off. There is no pattern to it at all. I called Philips and of course it is out of warranty. I have unplugged everything except power and it still dies. I came home today and the power was off, so I power cycled it but the extender did not come back on. Is there anything myself I can do since its out of warranty? I am decent with a soldering iron. :\

Has anyone sent their extender off to get repaired (at SERVICE WIDE TECHNOLOGIES)? What was the cost of repair vs replace?

Thanks for any advice!

Call SWT and see what they charge. Does the Extender have latest firmware on it? Are you sure it is not a bad power adapter? Try one that you use for TSU9600 to see if things come back to life.

Check the PSU first, and im guessing it may be the Power socket on the Board on the RFX9600, check these two first.

Next check the Ribbon cable inside the unit, after that , your into some $$ for a repaired unit..

Thanks guys.. will do. I don't have the TSU9600 but I do have the 9400. I think the charger plug come out of the base. I will check the tags on the plugs to see if they are compatible.

gopronto, do you happen to have a "service manual" for the rfx9600. One with a exploded view of the parts?
