I have a 9400, 9600, and 9800 pronto remotes. None of them will communicate with my dlink dir-655 wireless router. I have it setup to work in both n & g modes, as well as wpa personal.

I have entered my ssid, as well as passphrase but can not connect to the wifi. I have tried both static and dhcp for tcpip addresses.

Has anyone had any success with the dlink dir-655 router?

Thanks!
Bill

I am using a DIR-655 successfully with three TSU9400s. The bad news for you is that my configuration is very basic: DHCP, WEP (not WPA) and no dual mode (g only). I have not been able to get WPA to work consistently. Also, D-Link firmware 1.32na is buggy and the recent beta firmware (V9, I think) is much more stable.

My TSU9400 works fine with my dir-655 with WPA decryption but i can´t get it to work when the n-mode is activated. I´m running Mixed 802.11g and 802.11b and that works for me.

I was so fed up dealing with getting WPA to work consistently, I installed another AP I had laying around. It doesn't have any encryption or internet access (for now), but at least my damned HT setup works again.

Unfortunately, this has killed my ability to control my XMBC setup via HTTP, but I'll figure something out. Can't believe how crappy Philips' WPA implementation made my TSU9600.

The only way I have been able to get it to work is to turn off all encryption, which is not an option. I do have a 2nd router and may try to set that one up as an AP only. I have tried both the dlink dir 655 and also a netgear router.

I have a dLink DIR-825 and can't get WPA to work. Tried B/G mixed modes, etc. My 9800 will not connect. Works perfect with WEP. At this point, my prontos are the only devices in our home which seem to require WEP (at least for this router). Does anyone have the DIR-825 router working with WAP and any of the pronto pro remotes? Thanks. SJ

Others have had issues with this particular router.

A search for all words on next line will point to the thread I referenced.

Apple's iPhone apparantly also has problems with D-Link DIR-655 and DIR-825 access points; a possible solution might be found on this forum thread:

[Link: forums.dlink.com]

"Go to Advanced > Advanced Wireless and change beacon period for 2.4 Band to 75.
Change RTS Threshold to 2304, Change Fragmentation Threshold to 2304.
save settings. Done."

Also, when using WPA, double-check that you have enabled SSID broadcast. While a Pronto may connect to an access point which does not include the SSID in its beacon frames, when using WPA, the Pronto requires that the access point includes the SSID in the beacon frame.

Thanks. I'll check into this. However, we have several iPhones/iTouches and all connect perfectly (but I'm using WEP because of the prontos). The router does have two SSID (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Use the 5Ghz for other things as well as an additional 2.4 GHz guest network. Has been a solid router except having to use WEP on the 2.4Ghz network because of prontos. I know that phillips use to recommend setting up a different network just for the prontos. However, with all the integration from the pronto to my home network, this really doesn't make as much sense (at least for my setup).. SJ

I moved my 655 back to firmware 1.21 (Hw rev A3) to get it stable.
I don't need to do reboots after that.

Also, decide why you do encryption, I prefer locking down on MAC addresses.
Then noone can use my network, but if they want to scan where I'm surfing, don't really care. But I don't live in a flat down town.

I have a 9400, and will do some tests.
