There is no "Settings Pages" special action in ProntoEdit Professional. As such, the only way to access the settings pages with the TSU9600 is via the "Settings Button" system item which can only be placed on the System Page. This is a step backwards in contrast to the Pronto NG line. That being said, I did submit a request during the beta test to have a "Settings Pages" special action added to the software, so it's certainly possible that we'll see this functionality down the road.

Thank's Lowpro. I don't like have "Setting" on every page. One other question, on the system page in the upper left hand corner there is an icon that appears to be a system item is has four points of light top, bottom, left and right, what is it?

The icon you speak of is the System Item called, "Sending Icon". When the remote is sending signals this icon animates to show signals are being sent from the remote.

I think you are SOL on changing those items. You will still need to manually edit the ConfigEdit.xml file inside the XCF file. FYI, the XCF is a zip just like a PCF.

The TSU9600 certainly sounds interesting.

When the TSU3000 first came out, I imported my perfectly working TS1000' CCF into the TSU3000. Many codes that used to work with the TS1000 didn't work once imported into the TSU3000. It took a lot of "relearning" from the original remotes and a number of firmware upgrades before I was actually able to replace my TS1000 with the TSU3000 (fortunately, going from the TSU3000 to TSU7000 was easy, except for replacing the graphics). So, before jumping into the TSU9600, my question is: how easy is it to import my PCF's remote codes into the TSU9600? I understand I'll have to redo the graphics, but that's okay. It's the remote codes that I'm concerned about.

Thanks.

The 9600 is, IMHO, at least 10 times more reliable than the NG remotes as far as IR is concerned. I had only one issue with some 7000 series IR codes that the NG platform had shortened. When I went back to the older 1000/2000 remote format of the same IR code, I had zero problems. IR is much faster, and IMHO, more reliable. With the WI-FI based extenders, everything is dead on.

All of my codes from my 7000 work fine when converted to 9600.

Interestingly, 900x codes are converted back to 0000 format when migrated. I have not experimented with learning as yet to see if I get 900x codes when I actually learn the codes again.

I have found IR much more reliable even without the extender. Using direct IR I could point the 9600 almost anywhere and the codes still got through.

That is exactly what I have done to change the text color.

As for the Lutron interface, I was able to set up a 9600 extender and Lutron Chronos this week and it performed flawlessly. The RFX9600 was a Philips sample.

Has Philips made any advancement in processor speed with the 9600? One of my issues with the 7000/7500 was the slow refresh/rendering speed when jumping pages in the effort to produce animations. I was hoping that Philips may have indirectly improved this issue in designing the 9600. For I'm sure it isn't a high priority when developing a remote.

Thanks

Processing speed is much, much faster than the Pronto NG remotes. The delay I have with my TSU7500 when flipping through pages is not present on the TSU9600.

I agree with Lowpro. The unit moves very rapidly, including the IR code output. VERY speedy!
