Hello... I'm looking to purchase 2 Philips TSU 9600s ASAP. Anyone have any in stock anywhere? I thought I was on to some for a while, but it turns out they were backordered. I also keep hearing they are in short supply. If anyone knows of anywhere to order them in the US I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Nick

Thanks. I actually spoke with him this morning. I'm trying to find some in the 1000-1100 price range. Theirs were higher than that range. Very helpful and nice guy though.

I ordered from them on Monday and my order was "processing" until today. It seems that Philips has decided to enforce their sell only through custom installers policy. My order was canceled today with this notice:

We are extremely sorry but we can not fill your order for the Pronto Pro products. We are unable to continue selling these items as Philips would prefer selling these remotes only through their custom installation resellers. We would love to help in any way we possibly can. Please let us know if there's anything we can do for you.

that is absolute nonsense.....im not the type of person that pays others to do things for me.

How long before Philips changes their tune on this stupid idea?

Wow that is ridiculous. Especially for people like us who have really given the prontos a great following. I've owned three prontos so far. And these two are for gifts for two different family members homes who have been eyeing mine for some time now.

Of course on the custom installation side, I'm sure they are glad to see a manufacturer supporting their trade. So I suppose its a two sided coin.

One would think the two worlds could coexist peacefully though. There are only so many people willing to take on the programming task of these remotes. I don't see why we should be forced to purchase them from custom installers if we are willing to program them by ourselves. Perhaps they have received complaints from users who buy them unaware of the programming time needed to get the best out of them? Either way I'm suprised by this move. It does explain why I have only seen them for sale on one website so far. Interesting...

It's said that representatives from Pronto monitor (and very occasionally post to) this site. It sure would be nice if one of those reps would post and attempt to explain this policy.

I've had several Prontos of various generations and one of the primary reasons for my loyalty is the enjoyment I get out of programming them myself.

not only that, but there is no way I would pay someone to do something that I am quite capable of doing myself.

It may be the fault of Phillips but I wan't to happy with how Hifeflifestyle handled this. I ordered off the Hideflifestyle site 8 days ago. It said "In Stock". However, my order wasn't shipping when I checked there site. I called a few days later (Monday)and they said more would come in on Tuesday or Wednesday and ship immediately. There site still said "In Stock". I called on Wednesday and got a message. I asked about my order and asked for a call back right away. I got an email today, two days later, from Hideflifestyle saying they wouldn't be getting any more and they had concelled my order. Same message quoted above. Frustrating.

I ordered this afternoon from Dave at RemoteQuest; yes for a higher price. I already received a shipment notification. Dave was very helpful.

I don't believe that they are preventing an individual from purchasing, just not purchasing through Ebay. Go through a dealer who is an authorized reseller.

HiDefLifestyle is an authorized Philips reseller. Philips just will not allow them to sell the TSU9600 (by not sending them any).
