i believe they are sold into Harvey Norman here (Australian
Box Mover similar to costcos etc) but im not sure how
succesful its being.

I don`t think TSU models are sold in Harvey Norman Stores.I think they sell SRU models.I`m pretty sure that the Pronto Importer in Australia http://www.qualifi.com.au/ would not sell the TSU models to Harvey Norman Stores.

o thats lame . .

i thought there was a MORE page , like a second page
. .
that sounds like the REGULAR page .. heh

i was hoping when activating an activity,

it would take me to a standard page of buttons,

Unlike a URC or similar products there is only one "infinite" page for the "more" items and the favorites. Thats the nature of the spin wheel interface. Some may not prefer the spin wheel rather than the a page UP/DOWN concept.

As pointed out elsewhere, where you can always make the unit jump to the Favorites or More page at the end of the main macro.

I'm getting the impression that the words "funnel web" and "Holden" mean something to a number of people here.

I cant say that i see the 9200 as a threat to the 9400/9600
business,

"Idealogical threat" not actual threat for the other reasons given. Mainly Hard Buttons v highly customizable Touch Screen.

however i can understand them wanting it to still be programmed
by people that know whats going on. if it were to be sold
through costco's etc, when people program it themselves
and it doesnt work very well theyll blame the remote rather
than the program on it, giving the brand a bad name.

Agree. I'm sure thats a big consideration - supporting and training an installer gets you numerous clients at a given cost. Supporting the general public increases the cost. That makes the contrast between Harmony and URC's business model interesting. With a few quirks ironed out and a more elaborate manual I think the structured programming approach the 9200 takes could actually be ready for general consumption. (e.g. I could not find where it explained that "Config V2.05" is the proper format for the Project Name if you want the software to download the Version of the configuration into the 9200 and AND automatically save that version if changed to "2.06". Good discipline if you know about it.)

As to what the public is capable of: I never thought I'd see grandmothers buying motherboards at Fry electronics here or asking about disk drive trade offs.

I'll have to try your linking system.

ok,
installed my first one today . .

i love this remote.
its a great low end remote,
and it means i truly never have to use a harmony remote again.
its the same price range but more powerful . .

great looking screen, love the scroll effect . .
fave's are very cool.

i did a simple system
bose 321
xbox 360
mac mini
SA8300HD
wii
samsung flat

it all worked great.

tmrw i am installing the same remote
at a client with a 2 zone system so lets see how that goes.
im confident it will go well . .

this is my new low end remote.
(im also pretty sure phillips will have a replacement model coming out at CES,
why else would the prices drop and amazon be selling them below cost? getting rid of inventory . . my guess)

one question,
any way to use custom images for activities or faves ?

do i just add images to the app's folder or somtin?

looks like i can just drop pix in there as long as they are the right size, the right format, and have the correct naming scheme . .

any place online that has downloads for this remote so i dont have to create from scratch ?

anyone ever make their own icons?

id love to have one for apple tv . .
maybe some others.

also im sure ill run in to the day i dont have a fave icon ..

You are on the right track. You only have to copy or create a bmp file that is 66 x 50 pixels and add a "_B" (big?) to the icon name. When you start up Configurator it creates the smaller "_U" icon automatically from the "_B". If memory serves me well, this might actually be on the Philips website.

I've no experience with the Harmony. What are the top 3 or 4 specific things that you like about the 9200 over the Harmony?

Try the Only One download as previously suggested. Maybe
there are two versions on the Web site , but what I downloaded
worked for the TSU 9200 Configurator. All my devices
come from that downloaded database. Could be wrong but
I think the two databases (Pro, Config) are the same -
not the software of course.

Be sure you upgrade the firmware before anything else.

Have look at this thread,Post 7,8 & 9.This may help.

oddly,
some devices worked from 1remote,
some didnt.

the sony blu ray device was the issue (from 1remote database)
(would not let me donwload config to remote)

but the pioneer plasma 2008 (from 1remote db) worked fine.

If you check my other posts on download problems with the TSU9200 you will discover that the "auto assign" function will often assign an unspecified delay when it assigns data on / off with sony items.

Check all delays in the main macro AND be sure to check the individual on/off activity buttons. All delays should be in the form "Delay - .5 sec" not "Delay - sec". I find I don't need the delays so I typically delete all delays.

BOTTOM LINE "Delay - sec" results in download failure (in the first third of the progress bar) so check and delete.
