side (ring) of the 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead, some time this
is enough to of set the ov levels...

I've received the resistors (100 for £1), so I've got a few spare.
The minjack diagram here:-
[Link: en.wikipedia.org]doesn't seem to indicate a ring on a mono connector, only on a stereo connector.
Can you confirm which part of the connector needs to have the resistor applied to?
