Ok, Update, I'm at another client's house who has a TSU9200 & RFX9200.

Their TSU9200 has been saying command failed for every button pressed.

I just opened their cabinet to their stereo system and I cycled the power of the RFX9200 and then I pointed the TSU9200 directly at the RFX9200 from a distance of like 6" and the command worked!!!!!

And now all commands work once again.

I closed the cabinet doors and walked away and tried the TSU9200 again ans it worked!!!

So, I guess for some reason the link between the TSU9200 and the RFX9200 gets lost and that's why the "Command Failed" comes up.

And once you do as I did above the remote should work again.

I instructed my client to do this for the time being until we get a fix from Philips.

There is a firmware file for the RFX9200 and the PCX9200 on the Philips site.

This release enables support for RFX9200 and PCX9200 and solves the issue with some USB hubs.

It worked for me .

Update on my TSU9200 installation.

We've been through several "Command Failed" events that required rebooting the RFX9200. The customer was too cheap to purchase a TSU9400 and I'm on the hook to make the 9200 work. I plan to ditch the RFX9200 and go with IR relays. The result will not have the potential of being quite as "slick", but at least it will be functional.

This is a very dense area as far as radio interference is concerned. It is possible that the RFX9200 is simply over its head. Anyone who wants to try out their bright, shinny new RF technology in a less than ideal area, comes here.

I have two clients that I have set up the TSU9200 for. the RFX9200 locks up and then you get the command failed issue.

I have told these clients to unplug the RFX9200 when this happens and that fixes the issues for a few months.

Maybe the RFX9200 needs to be plugged into a UPS or a really good surge protector. I really don't know if that will fix it for good.

But right now the "Command Failed" error is because of the RFX9200 and not the TSU9200.

URC MRF-260 in the exact same location reports no RFI in sniffing mode and generates zero failed commands. The RFX-9200 is simply a very poor product that completely compromises the effectiveness of a remote I kind of like.
