I'm trying to add a Marantz AV7702 MK II to an existing Procontrol 24.r system but the Marantz is not included in the device listing. I tried the general Marantz stereo receiver but it did not have the functionality needed. I then tried a Denon and then an Anthem AV device template but neither were recognized by the Marantz after downloading. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How are you controlling the Marantz? IR emitter? IR line of site? RS-232? IP? The Denon commands should work just fine if you have clean communication. Marantz stereo unit codes would not work on an AV unit, except maybe power.

I'm using the ProLink.r processor. The Marantz didn't respond to the Denon codes. Any other suggestions?

OK, you are using the ProLink.r, but how is it communicating to the Marantz unit? Do you have the right output selected in the software?

I'm using an IR emitter. The emitter worked with the broken Pre-Amp so there is no reason to believe anything has changed. All of the other devices are connected to the Marantz via HDMI and to the ProLink.r using IR emitters. I hope this answered your question correctly. If not please explain further.

Some possible problems: IR emitter located in wrong location, IR emitter not assigned correctly in software, IR emitter is defective.

But would Denon IR codes actually work? Marantz products always uses Philips RC5/Ext format. Denon products historically use Sharp format.

I don't see the Philips RC5/Ext format on the device list either. Am I missing something?

Once Marantz started sharing units with Denon they switched over to the same code sets.

Okay, but would that include the 7702mk2 from 2015? I own the 7702 non-mk2 that’s only a year older and only differs in HDMI chip, and it definitely uses Marantz codes. I also have a NR1710 from 2019 which still uses Marantz format.

This not correct. The AV7706 and other current Marantz products still use the same IR codes.
