Is there any way to use an IR/WiFi universal pro remote with Bluetooth equipment (for example the latest Samsung TVs) that no longer includes an IR option?

With the PS3 there were a half dozen or so devices dedicated to precisely this job. I wondered if there was a similar, but more generic programmable device to do the same for a wider range of equipment.

It might be a way of prolonging the useful life of such as the Pronto in an era increasingly dominated by Bluetooth remotes.

Which Samsungs do you speak of? Have never ran into one that didn't have IR.

So far, all of the Samsungs that I have encountered will accept IR commands. The native Samsung remote might use Bluetooth for TV commands, but you can still use a dumb cable box IR remote. And, if you indicate to the Samsung that you want to control an AVR, the remotes will emit IR for the AVR. I use this to deal with PLAYBAR.

It's a QE75Q7F which is currently in the box awaiting installation. I had assumed that because the supplied remote was BT, then IR was no longer an option. Thanks all for the steer and I'll dig a bit deeper.

Got to say though that the TV's manual - if you can call it that - is a bit of a joke compared to what came with the Pioneer plasma it is replacing.
