Hi , new to this forum and looking for help. I have a UEI 1056B03 ( from Cogeco Cable) and have just upgraded to a Samsung HW-F550 sound bar. My problem is the UEI remote does not have the code for the Samsung. It is a pain having to use the Samsung remote for the volume as I use the UEI for all my other components.
I have found some confusing advice on how to upload the code--
from another forum-
" FTDI-chip cable. Finally got the cable that I ordered on eBay. Connected it to my UEI remote without issue, and it was recognized by my laptop.
Launched RMIR, loaded up the file that I thought might work, and uploaded the information to the remote. Took less than 10 minutes (since it was my first time, I had to follow the instructions I printed out from this site on how to use RMIR).
Worked BEAUTIFULLY. I now have control of my new soundbar from my remote.
Thank you to all who responded to my posts with your advise and suggestions. It was very much appreciated.
This is such a great site with very helpful members."
Any help on whether this UEI 1056B03 is compatible with this upgrade ?
Any help on what program I need and what file to use on the remote?
Thanks for any advice.

Yep, it's compatible. You need Remote Master and the following file:

You need to join the hifi-remote.com forum to download the files.

Alternately, just enable Anynet and HDMI control on your TV and use the TV volume controls for the soundbar.

Thanks, I will look into the links you provided. On the Anynet suggestion, I want the UEI to be able to control the volume of the samsung soundbar. Using Anynet, I already have the soundbar turning on whenever the Samsung TV is turned on, the only issue is getting the UEI upgraded so that the one remote will do the job. Thanks again.

With anynet, the TV vol commands from the 1056 should pass through the TV to the soundbar over HDMI using the TV codes. So soundbar codes should be unnecessary in that case. Check your soundbar manual for details.

I recommend this cable:

BTW, I just noticed the 48.45 in your thread title. That's incorrect. It should be 48.15.
