Hi all,
I'm italian and I've read sometimes your very interesting forum!
I write only now for a problem with my home theater setup.
I've this components:
Primare PRE32, Primare CD32, Rotel RSP1570, DVD iScan DUO, Denon DBT-3313UD, HTPC (used for sat tv watching).
Each component has 1 input port and 1 out port marked as IR IN and IR OUT (in rear panel) and 1 RS232 port.
I've a RedEye Pro controller with 8 IR output (the productor mark this as IR emitters output).
If I connect one of this ports to port IR IN of one of my components (with 3.5 mm jack mono or stereo) does not work.
While if I connect output of processor to IR blaster/emitter this works.
By testing on a denon DCD-520AE using 3.5 mm jack cable (mono or stereo) this works (even on a cd player rotel).
Are the ports of this processor compatible with IR-IN back ports of my components?
Some solution to solve the problem?
Otherwise you recommend me a system to control through those ports of those components (without use RS232 port).
I hope you will answer me soon because I'm desperate :(

Regards,
Alessandro.

You should be able to use a mono 3.5mm cable to connect the out put of your control system to the input of each of your components. Go to the Xantech website. They make adapters to connect to control inputs of components that don't accept IR. See if any of your components are listed. If not they should be compatible.
