I have the same problem (6 year old TSU-9600 with failing battery) and was wondering if you've received any advice or figured out how to replace the battery. I understand that dissassembling this this is pretty difficult/challenging, but I'd be willing to attempt it if I had some good instructions on how. Or, alternatively, if someone could recommend a reliable place to send it to to have this done (though being w/o it for a time will be an issue for me).

I've fully disassembled the TSU9600 a number of times. See the 2nd post of the thread found here where I've posted a download link for the TSU9600 service manual. Also, if you feel more comfortable having someone else replace the battery for you and live in the United States I'd recommend contacting www.servicewidetech.com and have them do it for you. Personally I'm not willing to perform the battery replacement unless it's my TSU9600. Would hate to screw up someones remote by accident.

Thanks! This helps a bunch. Replacing the battery doesn't look that difficult based on the instructions given. I like that their are screws holding the back on rather than simply clips and adhesive.

Well yes there are screws, but there are also clips so care obviously has to be taken when prying the two halves apart once removing the screws and so long as the proper tool is used you shouldn't damage the actual casing in the process.

Thanks for the service manual, Lowpro, but where can I find a replacement battery to install? I do not live in the US.
