Fellow members:
Short of buying a used remote from Ebay (which may or may not work & spend on return shipping), is there another way to get a generic programmable RC that i can use to run this model AVR 3805? Appreciate any input.

It's not clear exactly what you want. To get best correspondence between button labels and receiver functions, buy an exact replacement remote. On the other hand, if your intent is to teach another remote, or primarily to do common funtions, then a RCA RCRP05B (<$20) or a Comcast 3DVR remote ($6 shipped on eBay--new) will work, and can additionally be manually programmed to provide all the IR signals. Use setup code Audio 1360 with the RCRP05B, and 31360 with the Comcast.

Thank you. In Ebay they sell original/used Denon remote but the seller will not guarantee remote and one has to pay to ship it back if defective and it is just a lot of hassle. I will go your way and hopefully it works. At least it is brand new remote. Thank you again.
