I received Comcast DTAs today and they came with Universal remotes. I cannot get the Comcast DTA remotes to work with my Polaroid FLM-2017 TVs. Comcast is no help and can't get help from Polaroid either. I have tried the search function on the remote and every code I have seen suggested. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Even suggestions for a universal remote that would work with both my TV and Comcast DTA.

Thanks,

Have you tried specifically 11276? UEI (the manufacturer of the DTA remote) thinks that is the correct setup code. Or how about 10150? Make sure that the remote blinks twice after you enter 11276.

1) Press Set
2) Enter 11276
The remote should blink twice.

I have tried both 10150 and 11276. The closest I have gotten is 10030 which will take care of Volume and mute but will not turn the TV on/off.

It would have been faster and easier if you had mentioned that 10030 partially works in your first post.....

The DTA remote is intended to run your cable box, so the only buttons which are supposed to work with the TV are Vol+, Vol-. Mute and Power. Sometimes power doesn't work well, because it sends the power signal to the DTA at the same time, and that can confuse the TV.

If you want more control of the TV and also the DTA, you can try to find a Comcast 3DVR remote with a red OK/Select button (grey won't work with the DTA) or buy a RCA RCRP05B ($20 at Walgreens and Best Buy). A OneFOrAll URC-8820N will also work.

For the DTA use Cable 1982 (or 01982 for remotes needing 5 digit setup codes). If you get one of these, post back and we'll tell you how to manually program in some functions like the arrow keys, which probably won't work using (1)0030

Sorry I found that 10030 code partially worked just before my last post.

Are there any more simple remotes available? These two TVs are in my teenagers rooms and they only have TV and Cable on them.

Thanks,

Oh and it doesn't appear that the DTAs power off at all as long as they are plugged in.

I think the OARC03G will work, and can be manually programmed to fill in the 10030 setup code.

Yes the DTA has no pwer function, but the DTA remote sends it anyway!

How would the manual programming work?

Thanks for all of the help 3FG! I finally found a GE 24950 5 Device Universal Learning Remote Control, Black at Target for about $12. I couldn't find the ones you mentioned in my area. TV programmed with code 1177 and worked just fine. Then I used the learning function and saved the CH+ and CH- from the DTA to the TV mode. Everything works just fine in TV mode. I guess if we ever need the other modes they are there.
