I have a Sylvania TV: LC225SC9. The original remote had a button to change the aspect ratio of the image on the TV (as in from letter box to standard 4:3 to zoom etc). I couldn't find an option within the onscreen menus to change the aspect and I haven't seen a universal remote that has a dedicated aspect button. Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Safin.

Assuming the remote isn't sending a signal (tips on how to check are in the back of the TV manual) I would think a replacement would be the easiest (and arguably cheapest) option.

This TV uses NEC1 protocol device 132.224. Here are three remotes which have a setup code for these Sylvania/Emerson TVs:

RCA RCRP05B ($15 at Walgreens, $20 at Best Buy) This remote has a dedicated Aspect button.

OneForAll URC-8820N or sister 10 device remote URC-10820N (must be N suffix) (<$20 at Sears) Has a Format button which I suspect will shoot an Aspect command. If not, the EFC is 00125. Use the 9XX command instructions to do a 994 EFC keymove to assign 00125 to the Format button.

These remotes are typically avaialable on-line also.

Use either setup code 1864 or 1886.

I have a Sylvania 6637LCT TV and need the same type of remote to control the aspect ratio of the TV. I found the RCA remote is still available, will this work for me? Any other lower cost remotes you can suggest might work?
