what are the major differences between the new dark grey comcast remote with red ok/select button and the older silver comcast remote with the grey ok/select button. i couldn't get the newer remote to work my sony home theater in a box system but the older remote did.is it ok to use the older remote with my newer motorola comcast cable box (dcx3400) and my vizio lcd tv if so i'll just use older remote

The grey OK/Select remote doesn't have setup code 11758, which works with the Vizio. You can substitute 10178, but realistically you'll need to do keymoves to get much besides Power, volume and mute to work.

Just load up the Sony EFCs that I pointed you to in the other post.
