Hello,
First I would like to say "Wow" this is a great forum, I can see that there is a ton of useful info here and i will be up late reading all I can. Next I have a Samsung Plasma that I need a remote to operate, it was used in a lobby and had the power switch removed for whatever reason. There isn't a model number and when i removed the back cover to find one the only model# is the actual plasma panel is a LG display panel model#. I've been searching for 3 days which led me here. It would be ideal if any suggestion on how to find OEM remote, if not I have a rmt-d117a Sony dvd programmable remote that looks like i can program for tv's. I have no instructions to do this.

Without some form of reference looking for the original Samsung OEM is an almost impossible task; check here and here.

The RMT-D117A does indeed have codes for for some TV's, but with its being an OEM model they're limited; i.e. there's seemingly nothing listed for LG or Samsung.

It might be worth investing in a cheap universal. Check the Files section for compatible models.

I own a very small Samsung LCD in addition to a Samsung Plasma. Both share the same exact IR codes per the functions they have in common. Have you tried programming a universal remote or universal functionality of an OEM remote with whatever Samsung TV codesets are available? If not, do so.

Maybe you already have a cable remote made by UEI.  If so, use either TV 0702 or 0812.

I acquired a few Samsung TV's but don't have a remote for them!
Do know where I can get the original equipment remotes for them? I also have a Phillips TV (don't know how to program the factory remote to also operate my Phillips receiver) with the remote but I don't know how to program it to operate my Phillips receiver (if anyone wants the model #'s please message me for them)!

If anyone can help it would be AWESOME!!!

For Samsung, try here...

For the Philips you need the manual for the model of TV you have.

The URC-1910 is another good option:

They also make near exact replacements for LG, Philips, Sony, Panasonic and most cable and satellite boxes.
