Hi, our LG universal remote manual was, ummm, burned. Does anyone have the code for a Panasonic VHS/DVD combo?

Do you have a model number for the remote?

I'm not sure if this is right, but this is the number where the batteries go...RC24991-C2931.

Is this really a LG universal remote that is a stand alone product, or is a remote that came with a TV or DVD, etc?
If the latter, start by looking in the manual for the TV or DVD. www.lg.com

Is this remote valuable? Why not replace it with a $20 (or even cheaper) remote?

Walgreens has the RCA RCRP05B on sale for $9 at the moment. Post the model number of your VCR/DVD combo, and I'll try to find out if the RCRP05B has a code for it.

It was a stand alone product. I guess we can just replace it. PV-DM2799

I don't find that exact model, but most (perhaps all) Panasonic DVD-VCR combos use setup code Video 1462 (or the similar 1762) for remotes made by Universal Electronics.

Maybe you already own a suitable remote. The Comcast silver remote with a red OK/Select button has these codes, as does the Atlas remotes supplied by a variety of cable companies. Higher end Vizio remotes will work, Radio Shack 15-100/133/134/135, Cox cable 7820B, OneForAll URC 6820/8820/10820/6131, many Motorola.

I thnk the RCA RCRP05B is likely to be cheapest if you have to buy a remote.
