Hi all

I am currently rather confused as to what I-Phone/Pad package I should go for.

Ideally It would use its built in wi-fi/bluetooth technology to communicate to the IR -repeater station to allow both the phone and I-Pad to be used con-currently.

Also I want a system that isn't too expensive, have an extensive Ir database and software that is easy to configure/adapt.

Any suggestions anyone?

Remote app needs to be connected via Wi-Fi to the same local network on which iTunes or Apple TV is connected to pair and control those libraries. You can determine if your devices are on the same local network if their network configuration specifies the same router IP address....

Remote app is a software application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that allows you to control audio and video playback of iTunes and Apple TV. Learn how to set up Remote app, and how to troubleshoot issues that may arise.

If you want to do control like Pronto RTI URC , Bitwise is a good soloution, they manufacture hardware and software , have IR, RS232, IP control (TCP,UDP) built in, There are options to add your own Javascript as well if you wish.

The gui Page size's can be set up for anything you like, even run the control app from a PC if you wish, has Ipad, Iphone, Itouch templates ready made by [Link: blackmancustoms.com].

You will however have to go through a Dealer to get access to the software and firmware.

one of the nice features of there I/o extender it has a "Power Macro" if there has been a power cut you can have any macro run after the extender has restarted..

I second the bitwise reccomendation. This is a serious control system and is hopefully an up and coming company. The software is extremely powerful. The minds at this company simply "get it" and are very understanding of the needs of installers. They also know how to seprate themselves from these "gimmicky" solutions. I am in the process of implementing this solution into my showplace and hpe to work a lot with this solution in 2011.

TouchControl (http://www.touchapptech.com) can probably control the widest range of devices through direct integration with USB-UIRT, EventGhost, IRCommand2, Global Cache devices, HTTP servers, AutoHotKey, and directly to network-enabled devices (such as Denon receivers or Keene KIRA IR devices) via TCP or UDP sockets (UDP support is coming shortly in version 5.2). It's only drawback is it doesn't have a built-in IR database. But codes are easy enough to learn through the app or find on this site, and the ability to create 100% custom remote control layouts makes up for that, IMO.
