I got a PocketPC not too long ago, and I'd like to be able to use it to control my HT in addition to the RC5000. I search for it and I found programs for Palm, but nothing for PocketPC.

Also, is the infared range on the PocketPC any better than the Palm?

PDA really has the potential to rival Pronto (IMO), well, take PocketPC as an example, it's already colour and pretty much un-limited RAM (well, built-in 32MB but you can add more if you want with the flash card). All we need is just a good software and the infared range.

Anyway, if you come across any software, let me know. Thanks a lot.

This one has a list of devices it will work on,and hasn't been updated in a year.

That's all I can find, and they don't look too promising. - Greg

I'll try them out. THe SkyCommander doesn't seem to work on my E-115 because all I can see is for HP.

One odd thing I notice is the IR window is on the side rather than at the top of the PocketPC. This is a weird one and it means I have to turn 90 degree to point it to the device I need to control.

Well, they obviously didn't have use as a URC in mind on the PocketPC you bought. What brand and model is it? If I come across another URC program, I'll let you know, but I've looked for them a couple of times in the last 6 months and haven't found any others. -Greg :-)

Greg, I have the Casio E-115 PocketPC. I really like the color screen and eventually I'll use it as a Digital Photo Frame.

Simon: A lot of people love their E-115's. The new PocketPC's are pretty cool, just overkill for me. I use the Palm lllx and it does what I need it to do.

By the way, you live in Canada, right? Whereabouts? I live in Winnipeg. -Greg :-)

I dropped and broke my 3Com Pilot 5000 2 years ago. It was a sad story :(

Well, I bought it for a few months, then I found out I could downloads tons of software for it. Then just about a week I know all these great software, I broke it at school. I just dropped it on a concrete floor and the screen was cracked.

PocketPC is bigger than Palm, but I like the colour screen and the Type II slot for add-ons. Whenever I'm not using it, I put it in the cradle and turn on the screensaver to cycle all my photos. It looks really nice. I was going to get the Sony Digital Photo Frame, but hey, I could use the PocketPC and save myself $1400.

Anyway, don't want to go off topic :) Yes, I live in Ontario, Canada.
