Hi All,

A few years ago your could buy all sorts of video/TV cards for the PC that came bundled with RF remote controls. It now seem that you can find hardly any such devices.

I'm looking for a simple remote or give basic functionality (play, stop, pause, FF, RW, Skip etc, possibly arrows and OK, but doesn't need to be full featured) for a dance class teacher. RF seems like it would be the best option as the teacher could be the other side of a room with people in the way. I think real button would be essential.

Has anyone got any suggestion (including thoes using other technologies) that might to the job.

Doesn't sound like you need a card, just an RF remote.
For a dance class, if all you need is music control, any pc rf remote should be fine.
Here are a couple of options....
You should double check these specs but, this is the info I found on the net.

Card:
Diamond XtremeTV PVR "Power Pack" editions include the Firefly PC Remote Control. This is a high-end RF remote control that features outstanding design and ease-of-use, and recently was awarded 4 out of 5 stars by PC Magazine.

I keep pointing my remote at the turntable but, it never advances to the next track.

Thanks fixitnick.

Sorry about the description. I didn't mean to imply that I needed a full graphics card but rather that it only seemed like a few years ago you could get many types of RF remote control, a lot of which were bundled with graphics cards.

The actual application in this instance will be running on a laptop so a card would defiantly not be required. I simple RF control is what is required, but I have found it difficult to find anything that will suite without costing a fortune.

I will check out your links, however, so thanks for that.
