Hello,
I am new in the home cinema world. I am building something like a mediacenter, but do not want to buy a new computer. What I would like is leave my media center (Mediaportal) pc in the office in the room nextdoor the living room. Now I found THIS on the web:

I have my doubts about the performance of such sender and receiver. What I want is to project good quality files onto the tv. I have a lot of heavy avi (captured from camcorder). Would that work? What about HDef? Is it a good idea at all? Are there other options to realize my dreams?

Thanks

Here it is in English:

This has a composite video conection so it will not work in HD. You can look at the manual from the above webpage and see for your self'

Why do you want to leave your computer in your office? What kind of TV do you have?

Because I want to use my desk top for work AND fun. SO I will probably better connect it with some longer cables with the TV and buy a PC Control Remote from Marmitek. What do you think?

Yes, directly connecting with cables is always going to be the best way especially if you want to play HD files. This is why I was asking you why you wanted to have the PC in your office.

Your next problem is how you are going to control your computer in the next room while watching the TV. Look at these RF remotes, they will work from room to room:

If you get one of those marmitec remotes let us know how it works. Maybe do a review on it here.

Eventually, I have purchased the pc-control remote (RF) with mouse control from Marmitek. Works fine on my computer, but have a few issues.

1 I had to install Showshifter (together with driver) from cd to make it work on my XP Home laptop. Showshifter is rubbish, but as soon as I deinstall, the remote doesn't work anymore. I need to deinstall because it shows up all the time unwanted and unneeded when I am in MediaPortal, which I use to control my mediacentre. What could I do here?

2 The remote will not control any of my other devices. I have gone through all the possibilities in the manual, but nothing works. Are there any other alternative methods to get control on SAT, TV, AUX etc.?
