I have a harmony remote. Harmony 659 and HArman Kardon TC 30. Would like to control my HP media center PC such that I can launch itunes, windvd and media center using the remote. also would like to be able to control at least basic navigation within these programs.
any ideas as to how i can do this? i could not understand what WINLirc can do for me or Girder for that matter. much time wasted :(. call for help from others who have made this happen.

Easiest solution is to get an MCE compatible IR receiver for your PC. You'll then need some software beyond what Microsoft normally provides in order to launch different programs and customize keys. For example you could look at http://www.eventghost.org/

i will find out more about the receiver.
can i not use the receiver that already exists in my htpc? it already has a receiver...
