Yes, it's freebie day.... A couple of the members on here (and myself) have been trying to figure out how to customize an MX-880, and after some trial and error, I got everything work perfectly.

There is a new Fusion theme on our downloads page that you can easily install in the CCP editor simply by renaming one of the existing theme folders and copying / pasting a new one. There is also a set of TV and sat radio icons that you can add to the library (857 to be exact) that fit the default button areas perfectly. There are 89 new activity icons and the default CCP buttons, backgrounds, page headers and footers have been changed to match.

Here are a couple of screen captures and instructions are on the downloads page. It only takes about 30 seconds to install.

Enjoy

Edit: Make that 937 icons, I just added the 80 Sonic Tap images to the zip file.

Youre welcome Compass, I figured if I was going to do this, I should put everything I can into it. I do have colored backgrounds and I will post those soon, theres a trick to get them to show up, so I need to write a quick tutorial.

You are the Freaking Man!!! I hate doing the MX880 because I am not a big fan of the graphics available. The stock MX980 graphics blow the 880's out of the water!! Thanks again, we all appreciate the hard work!

No problem v, I wanted to create something that closely resembled the free 980 template, but those little rectangles with the icons inside for the activities just looked too small, so I went ahead and used the Fusion icons by themselves.

Once I saw how it was done in the stand alone 880 editor, I gave it a try on CCP. The graphic files in the theme folders for CCP are compiled onto a single file that cannot be editied, so I used the default names from the regular 880 editor to see if it worked and just went from there.

You may notice when you drag an activity icon over, it automatically superimposes it on a default button. It also does this on the favorite channel icons, you just cant see the button underneath as I made them the exact same size.

Step 2 is to provide different colored backgrounds, but you will have to replace / overwrite the existing aqua ones in the elements folder before opening CCP. The new colors will show up in the modified Alpha theme automatically.

Those should arrive tonight at some point as they were finished before I put up the download, but I need to explain how to make them appear.

A little update to the MX-880 theme..... Here is a direct link to download a set of colored backgrounds to replace the aqua default color.

[Link: blackmancustoms.com]

Instructions: Once you have the all the new 880 Fusion graphics in place and working, navigate to C:/ Program Files / Universal Remote Control Inc. / Complete Control Program / MX-880 / images / Alpha / Elements

There are four backgrounds in the Elements folder with specific names that the program looks for when selecting the Alpha theme.

Open a color folder in the new zip file, let's say Amber, and select all four backgrounds (Ctrl + A), then copy and paste (do not cut / paste or drag them in) them to the elements folder to replace the default aqua backgrounds. It may prompt you to copy and replace the existing files, click yes for all four.

You can do this while CCP is up and running and your 880 project is open. A few seconds later, you will see the backgrounds change to the new color in the editor. They will be the new default color until you replace them with a different one.

Enjoy

Howdy, I luv your themes but the clock bar pattern not going full width kinda annoyed me a bit (a bit pedantic I know) so I extended the pattern to the battery and transmit elements like this:

For those that would like these elements, (as it's damned fiddly to get the patterns lined up perfectly), they are HERE - I hope you like them. :-)

djos,

Feel free to customize and distribute anything you like for the 880 theme. I may come up with a new one if I can find the time. I also have combination templates with plug-in folders planned for the for the 5000 and 6000 that will have larger, high res versions of the Fusion icons. The pages will self populate from the IR database as well.

It's a little bit more work but I want everything to be drag and drop from the libraries to customize the pages and they will include a full set of larger channel favorites. They should be very quick and easy for anyone to customize becuase the activity icons will self align just like the ones from the existing graphic libraries.
